I can see the growth value of selling something thats new to you: out of college I took a job in an industry I knew nothing about, and it was a great experience. That said, wouldn't you prefer to sell something you care about? Selling something without passion takes extra discipline, and while this may increase your maximum discipline level, in the short run it diminishes your available discipline, preventing you from using it in other areas of your life.
